Without the enthusiastic support of so many people it never would have been completed. All the work done on the calendar was provided at no cost to our organization. The models, photography, art direction, graphic design, fashion design... all volunteers. The Aveda Institute of Chapel Hill and their students / faculty / staff / alumni provided all the hair and makeup services for all our models and without their help we would not have had this amazing looking calendar.
Each calendar is a full 17" x 22" unfolded. The top panel is a full 11" x 17" with a single 8" x 11" full-color photo and three black and white detail photos for each month. Each model has a bio on their month as well as information on who their stylists were. Because we can only fit so much on the actual calendar we'll be rolling out individual pages of additional information on each model on our website, and more information on what happened on the photo shoot and on their stylists. More picture galleries, with the opportunity to purchase additional prints.
In a few months we'll be launching the contest for our 2010 calendar which will be shot on location in California, home to the largest population of Vietnamese in the United States. We're anticipating a huge amount of interest given how our first calendar has turned out and will be looking for models, and stylists to work on the project. We're starting a little earlier this time because... whew! It's a LOT of work!
